Meet Eva, and discover the story behind Casetto

A FAMILY STORY

Il Casetto dates back to the 1200s and was originally built as a watchtower for the nearby Castle of Monternano, located just a few hundred meters away of which only some perimeter walls remain today.

Later, side wings were added to the central structure, transforming it into a typical Tuscan farmhouse.

"In 1932, my grandfather Bruno purchased the Villa Rosa estate, which included several farmhouses, among them Il Casetto.

At that time, the house had all the features of a traditional rural dwelling. Only the upper floor, accessible via the external staircase that you can still see today, was used as living quarters. The lower part housed the stables, complete with the original mangers. The current living room overlooking the garden was once the pigsty, as you can tell from the small brick framed window that we have carefully restored"
